On the 12th of April, 2019, at a press conference, Acer revealed a whole line of hardware products, for various different categories. During this product reveal, Acer also revealed the Acer Predator Helios 700 laptop – built for games who want the absolute silence when they play video games.
The Acer Predator Helios 700 comes with the best of the best laptops specifications, including the latest Intel Core i9 processors, up to 64GB of RAM option, with an option to opt for a full- size RTX 2080 and not a Max-Q version instead. The Acer Predator Helios 700 also comes with a 17-inch display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The display has IPS technology and has 3 ms response time.
The display also supports G-Sync as well, which reduces micro-stuttering and screen-tearing. The Acer Predator Helios 700 comes with five speakers along with a subwoofer as well for providing the true onboard 5.1 surround sound. Apart from that, it also comes with the Killer W-Fi AX 1650 and E3000 – WIFI and LAN cards for better connectivity when playing games online, like multiplayer. You can also buy replacement laptop battery for the Predator Helios 700 too.
The main selling point of this keyboard is the Hyperdrift Keyboard. This keyboard directly integrates with the thermal architecture of the system. The laptop comes with five heat pipes, 4th gen AeroBlade 3D fans and also a vapor chamber. The keyboard on this laptop can slide out so that the top reveals the two intakes on the front.
The will provide more efficient airflow to the system, to keep it cool, quiet and steady during intense performance and gaming. Even though it looks great on paper, it looks silly in real life. Though the extended keyboard also acts as an ergonomic wrist-rest as well. The WASD keys are also MagForce supported as well, which makes the key actuation very fast and linear. The keyboard supports per key RGB illumination and also has a dedicated hotkey button to over the CPU as well.
Besides all of these small details, there is not much to be known about the Acer Predator HeliosThe laptop’s thickness is similar to that of the Alienware Area-51m. Even though the laptop is huge, the upgrading options are fairly limited to that of the Area-51m. It is still not yet known whether the laptop can be user upgraded or not.
The Acer Predator Helios 700 will be starting at $2,699. Even though Acer makes some of the best gaming laptops with Acer laptop battery, like the Predator Triton 500 – which starts at$1,799 and costs $2,499 with an RTX 2080. Since the Triton is a 15-inch device, it is much easy to carry, while the same cannot be said for the Helios 700. The Acer Predator Helios 700 will hit the laptop shelves in July 2019, and even though the pricing for the Intel Core i9 and RTX 2080 the combo hasn’t been revealed yet – it will definitely be higher than the base $2,699 price.
