Leaked Images Show the Interiors of Tesla Model 3 for First Time

Tesla Model 3 – The most awaited electric vehicle of the decade. No surprise that it has got a lot of people talking, and no surprise that its maker has thus gone to extraordinary lengths for keeping its details secret. Last month when a prototype Model 3 was found Supercharging, it had been covered completely to protect its interiors from prying eyes. But now for the first time some negligence on the part of company, whether intentional or unintentional, has given us a glimpse of Model 3’s interiors. And while what we see looks very polished and compelling, it can also leave some people frowning about a few things. You can check out the images below:

First of all let’s talk about the good stuff. The leaked images show an elegant wood trim and a clutter free flat dashboard. HVAC vents run all the way through dashboard and the 15-inch touchscreen of dashboard is mounted in the center. Steering wheel is also cleaner, with just one button on either sides.  It’s a very nice, minimalist and clutter free design.

Now let’s talk about the stuff that may not seem very pleasing to many EV lovers. Based on this design and earlier tweets from Elon Musk, the omission of an instrument cluster or Head Up Display seems to be a done deal. While Musk feels that no one would care about such a traditional thing and has got the plans of bringing all driving info to the center screen, this may not go down well among those who want a more futuristic dashboard. When you zoom into the pictures given above you’ll observe that the UI of central screen has been divided into two parts, one of which (probably the one on the side of steering wheel) may be used to show driving related info. This division of central screen may not seem a very compelling thing to many Tesla fans.

Anyways, if everything remains on track then next month we’ll come to know what final version of Model 3 is going to look and work like. The cheapest Tesla yet will also enter mass production by then, and early reservation holders are likely to get theirs by the end of this year.
