The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a lot of side quests. Gloom-borne Illness is one of them. As with most things within the game, the answer isn’t obvious at first.

If you find the adventure at the beginning of your game, it might take you a while to get everything you must complete it.

If you attempt to do it after a few days, you might be able to complete it almost immediately as you begin. No matter what, this guide will show you how to quickly and easily finish the Gloomborne Illness quest.

How To Start The Side Mission?

To start the side mission Gloom-Borne Illness, you’ll have to talk to Lasli. You can find her in front of her grandmother’s house on the east side of Kakariko Village.

Due to the cloudy weather near the town, her grandmother is sick, and she needs items to make her a bowl of soup so that her grandmother’s health doesn’t get worse.

Bringing An End To Gloom-Borne Illness:

When you first get to Kakariko Village, you’ll find that the armor shop’s prices are pretty high. For example, a single component of stealth gear costs 5,000 rupees. The shop owner has to close because his grandma is sick.

To begin your Gloom-Born Illness, go up the road that leads away from the shop, passed the pumpkins, and over the bridge to your right.

Lasli, a young Shiekah woman, will be seated next to a pot of food. Talk to her to find out more about how bad things are for her grandma and to start Gloom-Born Illness. Your task is to make a special soup that can make the sadness go away.

To do this, you need Hylian rice, fresh milk, Hylian plants (which she calls “wild greens”), and something to make the sadness go away.

This last secret element is called sunder-land, which means you will discover a lot of it on almost every Sky Island. It is a yellow flower that grows on every one of them with additional vegetation or grasses. Some of the other items are harder to find.

How To Cook The Muesli:

You’ll have to go out of the way and look around Hyrule to find the last few items for the grandmother’s stew. You can find green shoots that are Hylian herbs in almost any grassy area in Central Hyrule. To get fresh milk as well as Hylian rice, you’ll have to put in a little more effort.

Lasli says that there are travelling traders on the roads west of Kakariko village, which is true. However, these merchants don’t have a set spot beyond this big area.

Your best bet is to go to the Wetland Stable, either by taking the road north and west from Kakariko or by fast moving there and making your way back to the village.

You will finally see a trader driving a horse-drawn waggon because they are on the roads at all times. They sell fresh milk as well as Hylian rice.

You Can Find Both Item In General Shop Aslo:

Both items can also be found in general shops all over Hyrule, but they are usually locked behind long task lines. For your own safety and to save time, you should stay on the roads near Kakariko.

Once you’ve gathered everything, go back to Lasli’s cooking pot as well as put everything in it to make the soup. Take the freshly cooked food to her grandma in the nearby house. As soon as she finishes eating, she will feel better.

The family will be happy, and as a small thank you, they will give you some regular cereal. Most importantly, the prices at the armor shop will go down to more acceptable levels.
