Apple recently unveiled the special edition (Red) iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. We are about to have an overview of the device, reason and benefits behind the special edition phones.
Apple, the unmatched smartphone manufacturer has made a tie-up with Product (Red) as an initiative to fight against HIV/AIDS in 8 African countries (Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho,
Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia). The initiative was started by U2’s Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006. The company offers its license to huge brands like Apple to make money.
The Product (Red) trend was started last year by Apple with the release of iPhone 7 and 7
Plus in Red color. It was released around the same time of the year. A share of the Special
Edition (Red) iPhones were given out by Apple for a good cause.
How does Product (Red) iPhones look?
The iPhones in Red really look gorgeous with a glossy red color on them. This time it is more red, a brighter red than the previous iteration. The iPhone 7 had an aluminum back on which matte finish red was brilliantly coated. They were nice too, but no match against
the iPhone 8’s bright red. This time around, iPhones came out with glass back to benefit wireless charging for the first time on iPhone. So, the red beneath the glass back is mostly
responsible for the bright and glossy candy red color of the newest iPhones.
The whole phone looks amazing with the black front. iPhone 7 series came out with the white front and many in the market felt black front would have better complimented the red color of the device. Apple had ears for the audience and put a Black front and a black apple logo on the back. The camera rim and the metal chase running along the sides have a brighter red contrasting from the red of the back glass.
You can not go wrong with the Product (Red) if you are planning to buy a new iPhone now.
Specs and Price
It is merely a midlife refresh; no specs have changed. The A11 bionic chipset is the processor, with 64 and 256 Gb option for both the smaller 8 and the larger 8 Plus handsets. Only the bigger sibling touts two cameras at the rear.
The Prices are the same as the other colors. Apple does not charge extra for the customer
to give a cut to the (Red) initiative. Though the share Apple gives on every iPhone is not
declared though.
Unlucky iPhone X
They have got something for the Flagship too. Though the iPhone X is not coming out in the gorgeous red, a special case – (Red) leather folio case that can be availed at an Apple store. The case looks and feels premium and also costs premium.
Apple’s commitment toward HIV/AIDS treatment
The tech giant has a softer inside. Apple has been associated with Red since the launch and has donated 16 million as of now, in other words, 800 million days of medication that can
prevent AIDS spreading from mother to child. It is wise for Apple to do a stunning iPhone to fund welfare campaigns thus proving its superiority in the market.
