PlayStation Responds To Privacy Concerns Over Party Voice Chat Recordings Following PS4 Update

All the PS fans will be happy to know that the PlayStation did respond to the privacy concerns that Sony is recording party voice chat following today’s PS4 update.

It is sure that all you may have heard by now that there was a release of a big new PS4 software update today. But it is somewhat surprising to know that it almost immediately begins to cause PlayStation users several issues.

You must know that the new PS4 update is the reason behind the PlayStation users having PSN issues. Undoubtedly, it is a mess for Sony to clean and it is a kind of mess that the company may not have anticipated.

Following the new PS4 update, it will be possible for you PlayStation 4 to record and log your party voice chats. Well, this speculation is sounding somewhat absurd on the surface level, but it is sure that the speculation was not just a random guess.

As soon as the PlayStation users begin to use the new PS4 update, the next minute they were receiving the notification about the Party Safety. Some users also did receive the notification informing that the voice chats in parties may get recorded.

However, as per Sony’s confirmation, the recording features are specially for the PlayStation 5.

Also, Sony did not miss to mention that it is just a feature that the players can turn off whenever they want to. In short, it is just a false alarm for the new PlayStation 4 update.

Sony says, “Following this update, users are seeing a notification about Party Safety and that voice chats in parties may be recorded,”

Sony also added,  “Voice chat recording for moderation is a feature that will be available on PS5 when it launches and will enable users to record their voice chats on PS5 and submit them for moderation review.

The pop up you’re seeing on PS4 right now is to let you know that when you participate in a chat with a PS5 user (post-launch), they may submit those recordings from their PS5 console to SIE.”
