In Hogwarts Legacy, Should You Open The Repository Or Not?

When you get to the end of the game in Hogwarts Legacy, your character will have to decide whether to open the repository or keep it closed.

This is one of the last choices you’ll have to make in Hogwarts Legacy, as well as it seems like an important time for your character to decide what kind of Witch or Wizard they want to be. Should you make the repository public or keep it private?

In The Hogwarts Legacy Book?

The Hogwarts Legacy repository is a bit like Pandora’s Box. Getting into the repository could give you powerful magical skills, but it will probably cost you a lot. One of the most important choices you’ll have to make in Hogwarts Legacy is whether or not to open the repository. This choice has a big effect on how the game ends.

In Hogwarts Legacy, you would have to make a final choice near the end. In which you must choose whether to keep the Repository closed or open it. Even though Ranrok is getting closer, it’s only a matter of time before you have to choose.

Keeping the repository closed might seem like the right thing to do, but what happens if you open it in Hogwarts Legacy? Here’s what you need to know.

If You Open The Repository, What Will Happen?

If you open the repository when Professor Fig asks you to, they are going to want the power to be out in the open and not kept in this place for centuries to come. Professor Fig would then question your choice, asking how you know what will happen to Isidora and asking again if you want to confirm it.

Your character has a short time to go back on this choice or keep going in the direction of opening up this place and getting to the power. At the finish of Hogwarts Legacy, the last cuteness plays a little bit differently. If your character wants to keep the power under control, you & Professor Fig will have to fight to do so.

But if you use the power of the repository for yourself, your character’s eyes will glow red in the ending and you will use the power to keep it in place. In this ending, Fig just disappears, instead of having a more sentimental death scene like he would if you left the repository closed.

Even though the cut-scenes are slightly different, the overall results are not that different, and unfortunately, your choice doesn’t have a bigger effect on Hogwarts Legacy.

There are only small changes, and the “evil” ending is the one where you choose to open the repository. No matter what, the players can keep playing Hogwarts Legacy as well as finish the rest of their time at school without anything bad happening.

Which Option Should You Choose?

If you have been playing the game in a moral way, it is best to choose the option to keep the magic locked up. This will lead to a nice ending to the story.

On the other hand, if you have been going down a darker path, you should open the repository, which will lead you to the game’s bad ending.

Depending On Which One You Choose, You Can Get A Good Or Bad Ending:

I Intend To Keep It Contained Here:

Normal Ending

  • Ancient Magic is kept hidden away and you become the Keeper of Ancient Magic.
  • Professor Fig dies sealing the magic away.

I Intend To Open It:

Evil Ending

  • You open the Repository and wield the Ancient Magic for yourself.
  • Professor Fig dies when Ranrok makes the cave ceiling collapse.
