When it comes to Sons of the Forest, every rock or cave hides a different kind of danger. There are a lot of things to worry about, from meeting basic needs like hunger to dealing with extreme weather. Mutants & cannibals attack as soon as they see you, as if all this wasn’t bad enough.

What To Do:

In Sons of the Forest, you must utilize the crafting mat that comes with your backpack to make most things. To get to it, just open your inventory and look at the big backpack on the floor. There will be a grey area in the middle, and everything your items will be around it.

That’s the place to make things. Don’t forget that you can also use the mat to charge or open things like cans of food and flashlights. With this system, you can make a lot of things. After you have gathered all the ingredients for the first time, the game will tell you how to make some things.

To see what recipes an item is used in, just select the item and the small cog at the top right of the mat, then choose the combine command. It will tell you what you can make with that item, as well as what you need to make it.

Once you have all of them on the mat, just turn the cog and the item will be ready.
