Hogwarts Legacy was just launched, and everyone is buzzing about it. This massive RPG based in the Harry Potter world is pretty much everything we’ve ever wanted. It’s finally arrived, and everyone is overjoyed. Not fully, anyhow… The game still has a lot of performance difficulties, particularly on PC. As a result, the developers have already published an update including various bug fixes and modifications to address existing concerns.
On February 14, Hogwarts Legacy got a very substantial list of bug updates, just in time for those planning on playing the game on Valentine’s Day. The patch notes for Xbox and PC gamer are mentioned below. However, it seems that the PlayStation 5 will not be receiving a patch just yet; those gamer will have to wait a little longer before the game’s improvements will be accessible on their system as well. According to reports, Xbox and PC gamer should now see less weird glitches or performance difficulties than in the previous week after launch. The list below includes all updates and revisions.

- The VFX presentation of the robe transition has been corrected.
- When skipping cut-scenes, a stability problem was fixed.
- A crash while playing cut-scenes & cinematic has been fixed.
Game Save:
- The mistake of replacing the final auto-save slot has been corrected.
- When resuming from the previous save, there was an issue where you couldn’t chat to a merchant beyond the first interaction.
Stability And Performance:
- Fidelity mode performance has been improved.
- A rare crash hovering above the map has been fixed.
- Wind problem that was causing distortion & stretching of world assets has been resolved.
- Material switching was used to fix an unusual event.
- A unusual crash with map assets state has been fixed.
- Fixed A rare crash with in-game world events occurs.
- The global lighting system’s memory leak has been repaired.
The Xbox Series X:
Stability and performance:
- Enhanced crash collection to aid in the pursuit of uncommon crashes.
Epic Games & Steam PC Fixes:
Cinematics:
- Audio problems that were missing or were not properly playing have been resolved.
Controllers:
- Updates to the Switch Pro controller’s support HL-346.
Upscale:
- Enable frame creation when DLSS is turned off.
- When utilizing DLSS rather than Super Resolution, anti-aliasing & screen resolution adjustments are disabled.
Ray-tracing:
- The problem of RTAO seeming worse than SSAO has been resolved.
- The default setting has been changed to Medium Quality.
Stability and Performance:
- Compilation optimization for shaders.
- Updates to shader compilation speed and functionality.
- A crash that was hurting Text2Speech usability has been fixed.
- Resolved difficulties with world assets being extended suddenly, which fixes the following reported problems HL-305 and HL-265.
- Fixed an issue where NVIDIA GPU had a worse frame rate than AMD GPU.
Version 12 of Direct X:
- Please note Direct X Version 12 is needed to run Hogwarts Legacy on PC. We do not recommend using workarounds to run the game with Direct X Version 11, as this might create stability problems with game startup and user experience.
Why Isn’t There A Hogwarts Legacy Update For The PlayStation 5?
The Hogwarts Legacy makers have announced on their official website that “due to a few more bugs we uncovered, the PlayStation 5 patch will need to be pushed by a few days”.
The creators stated in a statement that this PlayStation 5 update would contain “the repair for the ‘Collector’s Edition’ Trophy,” which many gamer have been unable to obtain.
PlayStation 5 customers, on the other hand, will need to wait until later this week to receive a fix, according to WB. Thank you for your patience as we work on this!”.
