You don’t have to spend time farming starch if you don’t want to. You can also just buy it. To do this, talk to the NPC Bolai throughout Liyue Harbour. He sells each piece for 1000 mora.
You could only buy five at a time, but the stock changes every three days. Last, Miss Bu will start giving you 3 starch the very first time you talk to her in Yaoguang Shoal.

What’s The Point Of Starconch?
Starconch is needed for Ascension, but before the Genshin Impact version 2.7 update, only Childe Tartaglia used it. Yelan, who also uses a Hydro-Bow, needs Starconch as well.
