It seems that Xiaomi is going to launch not one but two Snapdragon 845 powered devices in this month. We’ve already been expecting Mi 7 to be launched at Mobile World Congress, and now some recent leaks are also pointing towards the possibility of one more smartphone being launched by the company this month: Mi Mix 2S.
Yes – the device will be successor of company’s Mix 2 smartphone launched about 4 months ago, and based on a recently leaked specs sheet it’s coming with a killer design and hardware specs. The specs sheet has leaked on Chinese social network Weibo ahead of MWC, and it shows the device with a similar bezel-less design that aligns with renders leaked earlier. It shows a tiny notch to house the front facing camera in the top right corner of device, just as it was seen in renders leaked earlier (shown above). So now it’s almost confirm that this smartphone is indeed gonna come with almost 100% screen to body ratio. However, the story doesn’t end there.
There’s some other more interesting stuff too in this leaked specs sheet. It claims that Mi Mix 2S will be world’s first smartphone to come with Snapdragon 845 processor, which means that company is planning to launch it before 25th of February, when Samsung will be launching its Galaxy S9 (running Snapdragon 845) in Barcelona ahead of MWC. This is in-line with early rumors that suggested a launch of Mix 2S before the conference in Barcelona.
Other killer specs shown in the specs sheet include a whooping 8GB RAM, 12mp vertically aligned dual-lens primary camera and an under-display fingerprint sensor. Whoa!
It seems that this is the device that company would’ve launched as Mix 2 instead. No one expects an “S” version of any device to be this much superior than its predecessor. Now if Mix 2S is indeed gonna be at this level, it remains to be seen whether company will launch any Mix 3 this year or not. But one thing is certain – this is gonna be a flagship killer! Especially when you take its rumored price of around 40,000 INR into consideration.
Beware Samsung, your party is about to be spoiled even before it begins!
