In order to stay ahead of its competition, Xiaomi usually introduces its new high-end devices very early on. For example, the Mi 11, which is a 2021 flagship, was made official in China in December 2020. And this year, the Chinese manufacturer could once again opt for this strategy in order to have maximum visibility .
Rumors are already suggesting that the first smartphone using Qualcomm’s next premium chip, the Snapdragon 898, will be the Xiaomi 12. And today it is becoming clearer.
In an article published recently, the Gizchina site relays a rumor circulating on the Chinese social network Weibo (which would be attributed to Digital Chat Station) concerning the launch of the Xiaomi 12. According to this article, the launch could be done earlier than expected. More exactly, Xiaomi would present the Xiaomi 12 in China this December, after the presentation of the Snapdragon 898 chip by Qualcomm.
For the moment, Qualcomm has not yet mentioned this component. However, it is very likely that the Snapdragon 898 chip will be unveiled on November 30, during the opening of the annual event of the American company.
Will the Xiaomi 12 mark a new era?
Recall that with this new generation, Xiaomi abandons its iconic brand “Mi”. This is why we are talking about the Xiaomi 12, but not the Xiaomi “Mi” 12.
The use of the Snapdragon 898 chip should allow this device to enjoy significant performance gains. But in addition to that, other improvements would be on the program.
According to other sources, Xiaomi would also like to send heavy when it comes to the screen. The Xiaomi 12 would indeed have the best screen on the market thanks to AMOLED technology, a 2K resolution, as well as an “advanced” refresh rate.
Recently, an alleged render of the back of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra has also surfaced, showing what the camera as well as the secondary screen on that back might look like.

But of course, for the moment, all this information is still unofficial. And therefore, caution is always in order.
In any case, it should be remembered that over the past two years, Xiaomi has made enormous progress in terms of market share. And now, the group’s goal is to become number one instead of Samsung (while selling more high-end smartphones).
