Terraria will not come to Stadia after its creator announced its break with Google after losing its accounts.
A few days ago, Re-Logic, the studio behind the acclaimed Terraria, commented that his Gmail, YouTube, and everything related to Google accounts had disappeared. After several days of trying to recover them, the game’s creator has exploded against the multinational.
Andrew Spinks, known as Demilogic on Twitter, explained that his game accounts had disappeared for no apparent reason and that it had been impossible to recover them, pointing out Google’s mismanagement in the whole matter. This has unleashed an unexpected consequence for the great G.
Due to his anger, the creator has announced that he is dissociating himself from Google and, therefore, that the launch of Terraria for Stadia has been canceled. Google loses yet another developer. This has been the statement of the manager via Twitter.
My account has been disabled for more than three weeks. I still have no idea why, and after using all the resources I have to figure this out, you have done nothing but turn your back on me.
My phone has lost access to thousands of dollars worth of apps on Google Play. My Google Drive data is completely gone. I cannot access my YouTube channel. Worst of all, I have lost access to my Gmail account that I had for 15 years.
I have done absolutely nothing to violate your Terms of Service, so I cannot take this otherwise than you want to break ties. Terraria for Stadia is canceled. My company will no longer support any of your platforms in the future.
I will not be involved with a corporation that values its clients and partners so low. Doing business with you is a risk.
Apart from this news, Stadia is not going through its best moment. Google Stadia closed its two internal development teams and has already taken a new course. The launch of the streaming game service has not been as expected, and now its future remains to be seen.
