SpaceX to allow companies to broadcast ads from space

SpaceX has just teamed up with a Canadian company with the aim of launching advertising satellites into orbit, starting in 2022. Advertisers will be able to rent advertising space located on a satellite screen with cryptocurrency, and in particular Dogecoin.

Is space becoming the tourist trap of the 21st century? According to a Business Insider report, SpaceX has just partnered with Canadian company Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC). The goal of this collaboration is simple: to launch advertising satellites into orbit from 2022.

The advertising satellite dedicated to this mission is called CubeSat, according to an interview with GEC CEO Samuel Reid at Business Insider. It will be equipped with selfie stick on one side and a huge pixelated display screen on the other for “ display advertisements, logos and other artwork ».

Rentable advertising space in orbits with Dogecoin

The CubeSat satellite will hitchhike on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, which will put it into orbit. Once up there, the selfie stick will capture images and will stream live on YouTube or Twitch so that everyone can watch them.

Once CubeSat is operational, it will be possible to purchase ” tokens (Tokens) to claim designated pixels on the screen, before determining what those pixels will look like and how long the ad will run. There will be five tokens in total, Beta for the X coordinate, Rhoe for the Y coordinate, Gamma for the brightness, Kappa for the color and XI for the duration.

Companies, artists and anyone interested will be able to buy tokens using cryptocurrencies. GEC hopes that in the future it will be able to support payments in Dogecoin, which Elon Musk may soon accept for the purchase of Tesla.
