While doubling the two-tailed fox since 2014, voice actor Colleen O’Shaughnessey confirmed to a user on Twitter that she would not play Sonic’s faithful companion in the future animated series.
Announced last week, Sonic Prime is a Netflix-produced 3D animated series slated for 2022. So little has been revealed about the series’s actual content so far, fans of the Blue Hedgehog have taken to interviewing Colleen.
O’Shaughnessey, the official voice actor for Tails since 2014 and Charmy Bee since 2010, to find out if the latter would reprise her role. Unfortunately, the latter has announced that she will not be dubbing the Two-Tailed Fox in the series:
“Will you be dubbing Tails in Sonic Prime?
No. I regret to tell you that it won’t be me. ”
Remember that this announcement does not mean that the voice actor will no longer interpret the character in future Sonic games.
This announcement still echoes another that occurred on Twitter two weeks ago, that of Roger Craig Smith’s departure, who doubled him Sonic since 2010 with Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic Generations, not to mention the reasons for this decision.
Arrived in 2010 in the Sonic series, Colleen O’Shaughnessey first began by dubbing Charmy Bee’s character in the DS version of Sonic Colors, then in Sonic Generations in 2011.
In 2014, she began to voice Tails in the Sonic Boom spin-off series featuring Sonic Boom: The Rise of Lyric on Wii U and Sonic Boom: The Shattered Crystal on 3DS.
In 2016, she reprised her role for Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice on 3DS and Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Wii U and 3DS.
An episode produced in tribute to the 25 years of the series, Sonic Forces released him in 2017 and still sees Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the two-tailed fox and Charmy Bee. Finally, his last role with Tails dates from 2019 with Team Sonic Racing.
Sonic Prime is slated for 2022 on Netflix. Stay tuned for the next update.
