And they are hatefully dangerous
A few months before the planned release for January 28, 2022 on Switch, The Pokémon Company continues to showcase content and mechanics from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the first Pokémon RPG entirely designed in the open world. The last trailer gives a preview famous monarch Pokémon, some of whom are enraged as bosses.
With new information on the official Pokémon Legends: Arceus website (which does not go into too much detail), the trailer therefore gives pride of place to a new genre of Pokémon: monarch Pokémon. The latter would be essential to the narration of the adventure, as they are revered in Hisui region, with a guardian appointed to watch over them and their habitat.
Unfortunately, a still unexplained phenomenon causes uncontrollable rage in some of these monarch Pokémon : they get bigger, more dangerous and shiny a strong golden color. A little like boss fights, your own Pokémon will not be too much to calm them down, but they are anesthetic projectiles that you will have made beforehand that will overcome it.
This is when the gameplay unique to Legends: Pokémon Arceus takes over, since Enraged Monarch Pokémon will attack you directly.
The Chopper Insect / Rock type seen in the video is actually an evolution of the famous Insector, influenced by minerals from Hisui region.
The rest of the video shows more mundane things, like NPCs players will encounter throughout the adventure (ancestors of Pokémon Diamond / Pearl characters), customization options for his trainer which looks a lot like what we found in Pokémon Sword / Shield, a photo studio and Cerbyllin backpacking, the evolution of Cerfrousse also originated from Hisui.
