Oppo Find 9 Leaked Renders Show Bezel-Less Display and Physical Home Button

It has been a long wait of 3 years since Oppo launched a smartphone from its Find series. And though the period has been a golden one for company as it rode on the success of its R series, it now seems that company may revive the Find series once again. Rumor mill has come to know about the existence of Oppo Find 9, and it looks that another OEM is set to jump on all-screen bandwagon.

The first renders of device were seen last month. Now a fresh set of renders has been spotted by Android Headlines, but with a major difference. The similarities between both renders is that they show a device with front side almost entirely made of screen. The screen is edge-to-edge from left to right side, while on top and bottom there’re very thin bezels. However, the difference between both renders is that this latest set shows the device with a physical home button positioned in the center of bottom bezel. You can see it in the image given above.

There’s a good chance that this is not the final design and just a prototype, because a home button in that location may be very uncomfortable to use. Besides that it’s also not known if that button will have a physical fingerprint sensor or not – if it does, than that too may not be the ideal location for it. Including something like a home button in a bezel so thin doesn’t make any sense from ergonomic perspective, so we wish it doesn’t turn out to be true.

Besides this, there’re some other leaks as well pointing towards a feature rich Oppo Find 9. For example, it’s rumored that the device will be very sleek and will come with two multi-colored LED strips on top and bottom side. Whether those strips will be for cool-factor or for something very innovative is not known yet. As for RAM and chipset, the device is expected to come in two versions:

  • First version is expected to have a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
  • Another version is expected to have the same screen size but a different chipset (Snapdragon 653), 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

A 21MP rear-facing camera with dual sensors and 16MP front camera are other expectations. The device may be powered with a 4,100 mAh battery and may support VOOC flash charging.

Oppo has things going very well for it right now. Recently it joined the club of top-five global smartphone vendors, and if this device comes with industry leading specs, design and appropriate price then it may further cement the lead of company.
