Last month, Oppo had announced both variants of the Oppo F9 – the normal F9 and other one being F9 Pro. The F9 will be going on sale on September 15th, 2018. The Chinese company Oppo, has made this handset to be sold online exclusively via Flipkart.
The smartphone will also be available to buy on most brick and mortar stores as well. The price is set mostly at 19,990 INR and will be available in two colour variants – Stellar Purple and Black Mist.
If we start to talk about the specifications, then it really packs quite a punch to be honest. The screen is a Full HD+ display. It is 6.3 inches in size and is an LCD panel display. No use of any AMOLED panel here. The resolution is abit weird though, at 2340 x 1080 pixels, with the aspect ratio being 19.5:9.
There is a also a notch design on the top of the display, like with all the recent Oppo phones. So, not much surprise there, to be honest. Due to this bezel-less display, the screen to body ratio is a whopping 90.8 percent.
The SoC or System-on-a-chip that is being used here is the Mediatek Helio P60 chipset. The Helio P60 is an octa-core chipset, with good performance and efficiency as well. The Graphics Processing Unit which is used here is the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
This is a really fast GPU and can easily handle day to day tasks, as well as give pretty good performance in gaming as well. The phone also comes with 4GB RAM as well. While 6GB RAM would have been better, considering the price tag, but still 4GB is really sufficient as of today. The internal storage is 64GB, and it can also be expanded upto 256GB with the help of a microSD card.
The biggest surprise that it will be running on Google’s latest Android version of 8.1 Oreo. On top of the OS, you will get Oppo’s own Color OS 5.2 skin laid out. The battery capacity is pretty hefty at 3500 mAh, and is also being supported by Oppo’s own proprietary VOOC flash charge. With the help of VOOC flash charge, Oppo guarantees that you will be getting at least 2 hours of talk time on a 5 minute charge.
After all these specs, let’s come finally to the camera department of this phone. The F9 will be having Dual Camera laid out on the back of the phone, with 16MP and 2MP setup. MP refers to Megapixels. On the front you will have a 16MP camera, for capturing all of your precious selfies. If we are to talk about the various connectivity options on this phone, then it supports 4G, VoLTE, WIFI, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port. The USB Type-C port is used for not just charging, but will also be used for data syncing as well. The F9 is definitely a very all-rounder phone as this review is deeply research by professionals.
