Netflix has confirmed that it has launched the rollout of spatial audio on iPhone and iPad. Users will be able to watch their favorite programs while enjoying a more immersive sound.
It was in the pipes, it is now confirmed! Netflix is rolling out spatial audio support to iPhone and iPad. Obviously, only owners of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max will be able to enjoy it. As a reminder, here’s how Apple describes this premium feature that will delight sound rendering purists.
Spatial audio complemented by dynamic head tracking gives the content you watch “Cinema-like surround sound quality”. So much so that you have the impression that “The sound comes from all directions”. “Using the gyroscope and accelerometer on your AirPods Pro and your iPhone, spatial audio tracks the movement of your head and that of your device, compares the movement data, and then remaps the sound field so that it stays anchored to your device even as your head moves ”, says Apple.
