While there’ve not been much rumors about it, Moto G5S Plus launch may be around the corner!
It has become quite fashionable for companies to release an “S” update of their flagship smartphones every year. Yesterday Vivo had launched its X9s and X9s Plus smartphones (successors to X9 and X9 Plus), and now we’re hearing rumors about Motorola’s G5S and G5S Plus smartphones, which will be upgraded versions of G5 and G5 Plus launched by the company at this year’s MWC.
That’s right – the marketing material for G5S Plus slipped to Evan Blass, who didn’t miss the chance of putting it up on VentureBeat. And that report tells some pretty interesting things about the device. The first of those things is design: unlike G5 Plus, which comes with a plastic frame and metal back, the G5S Plus will be made entirely of metal from back to sides. The metal used will be anodized aluminum, which is a change worth welcoming.
Next change exists in display. The size of display has reportedly been increased from 5.2-inch to 5.5-inch. When such a change is done in display size, it also becomes obvious to increase the resolution accordingly to avoid the loss of sharpness, but nothing is known about it yet.
However, the biggest change will exist in camera configuration of device. While G5 Plus comes with a single 12mp rear camera sensor, G5S Plus may include dual-camera setup of 13mp sensors on its back. And friends, the way in which both sensors have reportedly been packed inside a circular area made of glass, believe me, it looks way classier than the dual-camera setups of other devices.
Besides that, the front facing camera may also be upgraded from 5mp to 8mp. The things that’re likely to remain same include 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Evan has also posted an image of the device showing its 3 color options and stunning design (posted above). The device, if ready, may be released on company’s upcoming July 25 event in New York, where company is expected to launch Moto Z2 Force and Moto X4.
