After being announced three months ago, we finally get a substantial preview of Marsupilami: The Secret of the Sarcophagus. A platform game where you will have to jump happily to achieve your objectives, like a Mario or a Sonic.
Apart from Asterix and Obelix: Baffez-Les Tous and Koh-Lanta Les Aventuriers, Microid has announced the imminent arrival of a new game inspired by Marsupilami, the famous comic book character imagined by André Franquin. And the French publisher ensures that Marsupilami: Le Secret du Sarcophage will become palpable from November 16. It will be possible to run it on Switch, PS4, PC and Xbox One. But also on next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X / S) thanks to backward compatibility.
We were however curious to discover the principles of play of this new adventure. And we just got some initial answers in a gameplay video freshly posted by the publisher. One can thus admire the marsupials at work in landscapes rich in colors. Concretely, they will have to jump repeatedly to progress through the levels, platform game requires. In lush vegetation, “Jump, bounce and bounce again” to advance in the adventure.

In particular, it will be possible to pace the map at high speed and to knock out the unwanted creatures that stand in your way with your tail. We find in this title game mechanics directly inspired by the iconic Sonic, Donkey Kong, Mario, or even Ori and the Blind Forest. Moreover, the fastest players will be able to activate Chrono mode in order to try to complete all the levels in record time.
As for the story, we will step into the shoes of Punch, Twister and Hope. Three Marsupilamis who have happy days in Palombia. However, one day they decide to open a sarcophagus struck with a curse. What causes the flight of a specter which will curse all the animals. Our three friends nevertheless escape this bad luck and decide to go to battle. A busy program in perspective!
