LG G6 Mini aka Q6 set to be launched on July 11 in Poland

LG G6 Mini launch date is probably out – this time way ahead of Samsung!

LG has sent out invites for an event on July 11 in Poland, where it’s expected to launch its LG G6 Mini smartphone, the slightly toned down version of company’s G6 flagship. Hey, Samsung here comes your old school friend! It has only been a day since we heard about the first leak related to Galaxy S8 Mini, and LG is already prepared with its contender.

The invite was first shared on Twitter user @grzdabek.

Soon after that came another tweet from @m__pisarski, thus confirming the development.

While these invites suggest that LG is going to release G6 Mini next week in Poland, it’s still unclear whether it’ll be a regional launch or global launch.

LG G6 Mini has remained in leaks and rumors for quite some time, so we already know how it may differ from the flagship G6. The first major difference is likely to be seen in the display – G6 Mini is rumored to come with a smaller display, but it may retain the aspect ratio of 18:9 that was present in its predecessor. The exact size of the display is unknown as of now, but since G6 comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display the size of G6 Mini’s display may be less than that. Next, it may have less RAM than the original G6: 3GB in place of 4GB. And for photography, the dual-camera module on the back may be replaced with a singular 13mp shooter.

So now with the release of this smartphone LG’s army to take on Samsung’s flagships this year will be complete. G6 competes with Galaxy S8, a recently launched G6+ with Galaxy S8+ and now a G6 Mini to compete with Galaxy S8 Mini. Another device that’ll find itself pitted against this new product is HTC U11 Mini, which is also about to be released in next few months.

It has now become a tradition for Samsung and LG to compete with each other in flagship smartphone segments. Both companies not just try to outdo each other in specifications of their flagships but also in launch schedules to capture the market as quickly as possible. And more often than not LG wins in this race of launch schedules. However, Samsung being Samsung often pips the company in sales figures despite coming 2nd in the race of launches. Now, this time it has reached another level – for Galaxy S8 Mini we’ve heard only one leak, while G6 Mini is coming. It’ll be interesting to see how things play out for LG this time.
