- A new retail box of HTC Desire 12 has leaked online, revealing its key specifications
- The box suggests that device will come with a 5.5 inch display and 64-bit Mediatek processor
- With this leak, HTC Desire 12 is now expected to be launched at MWC.
So we’re probably gonna get a new ‘Desire’ from HTC at Mobile World Congress. It now seems to be confirmed that rather than HTC U12, which will be company’s first flagship product for 2018, we’re gonna get its Desire 12 mid-range smartphone instead at MWC in Barcelona.
Because according to Android Authority they’ve got their hands on a retail box of this device, which seems to suggest that the launch of device is just around the corner. You can see the box above.
Besides suggesting the imminent launch of device the leaked retail box has also revealed key specifications of device. According to it HTC Desire 12 will come with a 5.5-inch display having 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ (1,440 x 720 px) resolution, 64-bit quad-core Mediatek processor, 3GB RAM, 12mp primary camera and 5mp secondary camera. It also mentions a 2,730 mAh battery and up to 2TB external storage in the device.
Now when these specs of HTC Desire 12 have leaked before the launch with this retail box, it’s just a matter of time before we get some renders/leaked images of the device. That will also reveal the design of device, something that’s still secret.
Earlier popular leaker Evan Blass had revealed on Twitter about the development of HTC Desire 12 by leaking its specifications. His tweeted specs of device, however, were a little different from the ones leaked above. He had predicted 8mp front facing and 13mp rear-facing cameras in the device, which is not the case as you can see above. He had also reported that the device is being developed with the codename “Breeze”, but it will come to market with the name of HTC Desire 12.
HTC’s got an upcoming 5.5″ phone, Breeze (second time as HTC codename), that’s mostly notable for pushing full screen, 18:9 aspect ratio down to entry level. Therefore specs are nothing special (Mediatek SoC, 2/16GB, 13/5MP, 2730mAh, etc), and it should be priced to reflect that.

It’s still not known at what price will HTC launch Desire 12 in the market, but we expect it to be priced like a mid-range device because that’s what it will be. Rest will become clear in next few days.
