How To Utilize Spectator Mode In The Bedrock Edition Of Minecraft

How To Utilize Spectator Mode In The Bedrock Edition Of Minecraft:

Any Minecraft explorer knows that it can be hard to find things in the world. Sometimes it’s necessary to travel a long way and go through a dangerous night full of enemies who want to make things hard.

If you don’t want to deal with all of that, there is a way to make things much easier and even see through blocks. Let’s look at what spectator mode is and how to use it in Minecraft Bedrock.

For years, people who played Minecraft Bedrock Edition couldn’t use the Spectator mode because only people who played Minecraft Java Edition could use it. But that will soon change with the 1.19 The Wild Update.

It’s a great game mode where players are able to traverse whatever block to look for caves or openings. Most of the time, it is used to look for holes underground or in solid block walls.

What Is Spectator Mode:

Spectator mode is one of the different ways to play Minecraft. It lets players fly around the game world and go through blocks and other game objects. You can’t attack mobs, break blocks, or even utilize objects such as the crafting table in the this mode.

Furthermore, unlike in creative mode, you can’t avoid flying in this mode. You must constantly float because you can’t do anything with the blocks, so you can’t land on them.

In spectator mode, your HUD won’t be visible. So, you don’t need to worry about your health, being hungry, or getting enough sleep. Your floating head is the only part of your body that other players and the third-person view can see. The rest of your body won’t show up.

Also, other mobs in the game will have a hard time seeing you. They won’t look at you or talk to you. Even so, the world will still know you are there. So, when you enter the chunks of your world that haven’t been loaded yet, they will be made on their own. But your presence won’t change how mobs spawn or disappear.

How To Turn On Spectator Mode:

First, make sure that your version of Minecraft Bedrock is at least 1.19.50 or higher. Checking to see if there is an update that needs to be done is a good idea to make sure it’s all working right. Once you have a copy that is up-to-date, you can do the following.

  1. Make sure you have cheats enabled in the Minecraft world if you want to use spectator mode. You can do this by going to the settings of the game in the pause menu and just toggling on “Activate Cheats”.
  2. Now, once you are back in your world, open the chat option, which you can do by pressing “T” on Windows.
  3. In the chat write the following command: /gamemode spectator
  4. Now you will be in spectator mode and can explore the world in safety.

Differences Between The Java And Bedrock Editions Of Minecraft’s Spectator Mode:

  1. The mob view is not available in Bedrock Edition.
  2. You can’t see the invisible entities like in Java.
  3. The world loading for Spectator Mode is faster in Bedrock due to better resource utilisation.
  4. You can quickly toggle Spectator Mode in Java with F3+. In Bedrock, there is no shortcut so you have to use chat commands every time.

What Is The Mob View:

You can also have fun with spectator mode by seeing Minecraft from the mobs’ point of view. When spectator mode is on, you can attack any mob to see the world from its point of view. You can’t make the mobs do what you want. But when you watch some mobs like a creeper, your view can be changed to show how that mob sees the Minecraft world.

This special feature of the spectator mode remains not available in the Bedrock edition, which is a shame. We think that will change with the Minecraft 1.20 update, which is coming soon.

In Spectator Mode, Can Other Players See You?

When you are in spectator mode, other players can’t see you unless they are also in spectator mode.

How Do I Get To The Nether When I’m In Observer Mode?

You have to switch to a different game mode before you can use a Nether portal or a final portal. Once you’re in the new world, you can go back to watching the game as a spectator.
