House of the Dragon : la série spin-off de Game of Thrones débute sa production

That fans of Game of Thrones rejoice now! Production of the prequel series, which will focus on the Targaryen dynasty, has just started. This will be called House of the Dragon. Its release should take place by 2022, if COVID-19 does not complicate matters.

So it could not be more official, the start of the production of House of the Dragon started. The spin-off series of Game of Thrones, which is inspired by the novel Fire and Blood by Georges RR Martin, should be released during the year 2022. The official Twitter account of the series, which should be talked about in the coming months, has just announced the news.

The news was just shared on Twitter by HBO. The American channel has just announced the start of production of House of the Dragon, and unveiled a release window in addition to a few images. According to HBO therefore, the series will be released during the year 2022, without further details. It will also be available on the SVoD HBO Max platform, which should also arrive in France next year.

However, the images shared by HBO are not specifically interesting, since we only see three actors reading the script. We thus see Matt Smith, who will play Daemon Targaryen. We also see Rhys Ifans, who will play the role of Otto Hightower. Finally, the last photo shows Olivia Cooke reading the script. An actress who will play Alicent Hightower.

As a reminder, the spin-off will focus on House Targaryen in Westeros. The events will take place three centuries before the time of Game of Thrones. Ryan Condal is the scriptwriter and producer of the series, supported by Miguel Sapochnik who will serve as showrunners.

What about George RR Martin? He is quite simply the one who launched the project some time ago. Even if he has already indicated that he will not take care of the script. Note that the man recently signed a new series with HBO, named Roadmarks.
