Square Enix made several announcements during its E3 2021 conference. Guardians of the Galaxy, Life is Strange, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin… here is what to remember from the publisher’s presentation.
E3 2021 takes place and takes a 100% virtual format after the cancellation of the last edition. Although some editors are missing, several prominent participants have already made their shows. This is the case of Xbox and Bethesda or of Square Enix which was full of announcements during its conference which was held late in the night of Sunday June 13, 2021. If you did not follow it live, we offer you here the summary of the important announcements.
Marvel: Guardians of the Galaxy
The first leaks around the new Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy game date back to 2017. Several years later, Square Enix and its developer Deus Ex finally made the game official at E3 2021… It is a third-person single-player adventure game that is made with the collaboration of Marvel. The title even already has a release date which is set for October 26, 2021. Here’s the first trailer along with an 11-minute gameplay video.

Stranger of Paradise :Final Fantasy Origin
Square Enix enlisted the services of Team Ninja, developer of Nioh and Ninja Gaiden, to create a brand new game for the Final Fantasy franchise. In addition to Final Fantasy 16 announced last September by Sony, another game is therefore in the pipeline. Entitled Stranger of Paradise : Final Fantasy Origin, it will be released on PS4, PS5, but also on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and on PC. Closed beta registrations are open now through June 24.
War for Wakanda: an expansion of Marvel’s Avengers
War for Wakanda is a new expansion of the game Marvel’s Avengers highlighting Black Panther and the universe of Wakanda. Square Enix took advantage of its E3 conference to give us a first glimpse of the extension, which you can see in the video above. It is expected in August 2021.
Babylon’s Fall was revealed through a new trailer, three years after the official announcement of the game. It is an action RPG that can be played solo or up to four players. Developed by PlatinumGames in partnership with Square Enix, the game originally announced for PS4 and PC will also be released on PS5. No release date has been announced yet.
Life is Strange: E3 2021 announcements
The famous Square Enix franchise also garnished the publisher’s E3 conference menu. First of all, the collection Life is Strange Remastered who comes back to the titles Life is Strange and Before the Storm revealed itself through a trailer.
Then, Deck Nine, the studio that is developing the new game Life is Strange: True Colors also unveiled a little more information on the title. In particular on the gameplay and the powers of the main character. The game will be released on September 10, 2021.
