Friends: the special episode is revealed in video, its release date announced

The special episode of Friends finally offers a very first trailer and a release date. HBO Max, which is not yet available in France, will offer the episode on May 27, 2021. Its name will be Friends: The Reunion, which, as the name suggests, will serve as a reunion for the entire eternal cast.

You are in need of Friends ? Maybe you didn’t know it yet, but Warner had been preparing for several months a brand new special episode for the series, which stopped in 2004 (already). This one is called Friends: The Reunion and will be available on May 27, 2021 in the United States on the HBO Max streaming platform. On the other hand, the broadcasting platform in France is not yet known, HBO Max is not available in France.

The very special episode of Friends revealed in trailer, release date revealed

One of the biggest hits of the small screen, which will have inspired many other productions, is back. Series Friends is preparing to return, on May 27, for a special episode. The trailer for this long-awaited episode – which mostly looks like a teaser – is available below.

Although moving, this teaser does not, however, provide a lot of information on the course of the episode. However, we can see the entire original cast, including Ross (David Schwimmer), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Monica (Courteney Cox) and Joey (Matt Le Blanc). All move away in the streets of Burbank to go at night to the Warner studio, in which the series was filmed.

In addition, the team will be joined by James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Elliot Gould (Jack Geller), Christina Pickles (Judy Geller), Maggie Wheeler (Janice), Tom Selleck (Richard) and Reese Witherspoon (Jill Green). But not only: we will also find Lady Gaga, Kit Harrington, Justin Bieber, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling ou encore Malala Yousafzai.

The series created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane will have lasted no less than 10 seasons, with 236 22-minute episodes. Aired in June 1997 in France, it will have ended in 2004, the last two episodes of the 10th season being named Those who were leaving, in two parts. On the other hand and very unfortunately, Warner has still not indicated how this special episode will be broadcast from Friends in France…
