The film was originally scheduled for release on April 8, 2020 before finally being moved to November. In question, the health crisis preventing cinemas from opening their doors. But the coronavirus has continued to rule the four corners of the globe. So much so that Die Can Wait has been moved to April 2, 2021 So it was thought that the release date would not change anymore. However, the new James Bond has once again been postponed. The latest news is that Mourir can wait will be released on October 6, 2021 in France. Hope it is final!
As a reminder, Amazon bought MGM for the sum of $ 8.45 billion. Some then feared that future films in the saga – like Dying Can Wait – would be broadcast directly on Amazon Prime Video instead of screening rooms. However, it is not. “We are committed to continuing to release James Bond films for theaters around the world”, thus clarified the beneficiaries Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, cited by Deadline.
Dying can wait: what intrigue?
According to the official synopsis, our fetish secret agent has taken a step back from his usual hectic missions. And for good reason, 007 is resting in Jamaica, far from the hectic life that his function gave him. You can imagine, however, that Bond will eventually have to come out of early retirement. Indeed, his CIA sidekick Felix Leiter will call him to the rescue.
He tells her that a scientist has been abducted and therefore asks him to help her. A perilous mission that will lead him to a formidable terrorist. This one is called Lyutsifer Safin and is said to be in possession of a dangerous technology. Suffice to say that Bond will have his work cut out for him.
Dying can wait: end clap for Daniel Craig!
This umpteenth part of the James Bond saga will be the last for Daniel Craig. The British actor succeeded Pierce Brosnan in 2005. Since then he has played the role of 007 in five films, namely Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Specter and therefore Dying Can Wait.

At the beginning of the latter, he is in particular basking the pill in Jamaica, as we indicated above. To make up for her absence from the Secret Intelligence Service (Mi6), it is therefore Nomi (Lashana Lynch) who endorses her number 007. She is the first woman to benefit from it. Note, however, that this number is not the prerogative of Bond. It may very well be tricked out by another agent.
In Dying Can Wait, our very old school James Bond is going to have to team up with a woman. A scriptwriting novelty perfectly in tune with the times that we can’t wait to see on screen. Lashana Lynch is not expected to lead the franchise afterwards, however. A successor is actively sought. Among the candidates for the license to kill, we find in particular Sam Heughan, Henry Cavill or Tom Holland.
Dying can wait: what other actors?
Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective, Sin number), Mourir Can Wait will feature actors already present in the previous opus. We think in particular of Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny), Ralph Fiennes (M), Ben Whishaw (Q) and Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter). We must also count on Ana de Armas (Paloma), Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann) and Christoph Waltz (Ernst Stavro Blofeld). The main antagonist will be played by Rami Malek, known for his remarkable performance in the Mr Robot series.
Die Can Wait: The Trailers
Several trailers have already been revealed to the general public. And these promise in particular a lot of action and varied landscapes for our dear 007 who should therefore not be unemployed. As usual, the little heady iconic music of the franchise is having its effect …
