Covid-19: an impact on mental health

A new Ifop survey for the Jean Jaurès Foundation was conducted among 1,003 French people at the beginning of September 2022. It then shows that 30% of people are less motivated in their daily life than before the Covid-19 epidemic.

Which then represents one in three French people. It’s a lot ! Because now, the proportion of people claiming to be more motivated is only 12%.

A story of laziness

Young people are the most affected by the lack of motivation post-Covid-19. This concerns 34% of those under 35, compared to 28% of those aged 35 and over. And what about motivation at work?

37% of respondents say they are less motivated than before the difficult test of Covid-19. In terms of age group, this loss of motivation concerns 42% of those under 35 and 35% of those aged 35 and over. But then what do they feel?

Many people say tired after Covid-19. And this, even if they had at least 8 hours of sleep. They also tend to yawn, or procrastinate all day. That’s not all !

After Covid-19, some individuals rfeel a need to slow down. And above all, to rest. But this is not always easy with the fairly fast pace of work and the short vacation periods.

The results of the survey also prove that 41% of people are more tired after physical exertion than before Covid-19. 5% claim that this post-exercise fatigue has decreased. And 54% say that this situation has not changed.

One thing is certain, laziness is a real scourge. It can affect anyone, at any time. It is therefore better to have those around you by your side so as not to sink into emotional fragility.

Moreover, you should know that 14% of people questioned say they have a lot more want to cry than before the epidemic.
