Cobra Kai season 3 was a real audience hit on Netflix. And while the fourth act has already been confirmed, we give you everything you need to know: release date, actors, plot… We take stock in this article!Everything you need to know about Cobra Kai season 4

Cobra Kai is the worthy successor of Karate Kid. The saga started in 1984 under the leadership of director John G. Avildsen. The Karate Kid immediately won over critics and spectators. We followed the adventures of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) who decides to learn karate with Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki “Pat” Morita), an eccentric gardener. Four films will then follow as well as a remake of the first opus.

The saga having become cult, a series taking place 34 years after the first film saw the light of day in 2018 on YouTube Red. Two seasons later, it is Netflix which recovers the rights of the program for season 3. Which was diffused on January 1st on the platform, quickly becoming a cardboard audience, in particular thanks to the presence of emblematic characters of the saga and a mess of references to the latter. And while season 4 is already in the boxes, we detail you point by point everything you need to know.

Cobra Kai season 4: what release date?

So far, no official release date has been revealed. As a reminder, season 4 was announced last October. Good news, Netflix cracked a tweet in early March to announce the start of filming of this fourth act. In all likelihood, it could therefore be available at the beginning of 2022 at the earliest. One year after the broadcast of season 3 on the platform.

Know in any case that the shooting of season 4 is now completed! It was Martin Kove (John Kreese) who announced the good news on Twitter on April 30.

Let us clarify that this will not be the last act. “We have one conclusion in mind. We’ve had it for a while, and it’s not in season 4. It’s way beyond ”, assured TVline Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the producers and co-showrunners of the program.

Cobra Kai season 4: what plot?

The synopsis for season 4 is still unknown. Not surprisingly, Season 3 has only just been released on Netflix. However, we can already make some assumptions. At the end of season 3, after yet another explosive brawl, Johnny Lawrence and his former rival Daniel Larusso reconcile, forming a united front against the emblematic antagonist of the initial saga, the formidable sensei John Kreese. We can thus assume that season 4 will continue to draw the threads of this new narrative configuration.

Either way, the plot should build around the All Valley karate tournament. In addition, it should be noted that Kreese calls a character on the phone at the very end of season 3. Some have then argued that it was Terry Silver. Great villain of Karate Kid 3, he appears in particular in season 3 of Cobra Kai in the form of flashbacks. So it is very likely that he is the main antagonist of season 4.

Cobra Kai saison 4: that casting?

As we have just explained, season 4 could indeed embark the character of Terry Silver, played by Thomas Ian Griffith. “We all loved the character of Terry Silver in ‘Karate Kid 3’ and his portrayal by Thomas Ian Griffith. So if this character were to return for season 4, we hope that it will be him who will interpret it ”, underlined Jon Hurwitz.

We should also find almost all of the cast present in season 3. Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) and Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso) will thus be in the game. We will also have to count on Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene) or Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso). Martin Kove will also be back as John Kreese. It will also be necessary to count on Vanessa Rubio in the role of Carmen Diaz (the mother of Miguel).

Two new actors will also be on hand. Dallas Dupree Young (Cousins for Life, Shameless) will play Kenny, a bullied child in school who turns to karate for self-defense. Oona O’Brien (Annie, School of Rock) will also appear in the credits. She will play the role of Devon, a new karate student who is as competitive as she is angry.

Some actors should however miss the call like Elisabeth Shue who had made her return in season 3. As a reminder, her character of Ali Mills had maintained a relationship with Johnny then with Daniel in Karate Kids. Present in the last season, Yuji Okumoto (Chozen) and Tamlyn Tomita (Kumiko) will also be absent from season 4
