Bandai Namco surprises with The Breakers, an atypical and asymmetrical Dragon Ball game

No super warriors to save you

Any new Dragon Ball game? All right but a dragon ball game where you don’t fight? It’s a complicated question, isn’t it? Well that’s exactly what offers Dragon Ball: The Breakers : an asymmetric multiplayer game where a group of survivors must flee an iconic super villain of the franchise.

In another official video released by Bandai Namco, producer Ryosuke Hara gives some additional details on Dragon Ball: The Breakers, developed by Dimps and which should be available in the course of 2022.

7 players will play as civilians of a city in the throes of destruction. The city is doomed, their only escape being embodied by a time capsule to start. They will have to redouble their ingenuity and use objects found in the field To escape to the super villain – also controlled by a player – who has a blast destroying the environment, determined to prevent survivors from fleeing.

The more civilians the villain absorbs, the more powerful he is. At launch, only Cell, Freezer et Buu will be available, while civilians will be customizable at will.

The title is strongly inspired by other games of the genre comme Dead By Daylight, although the use of the Dragon Ball license to this end remains quite surprising. To justify this scenario pirouette, The Breakers would be more or less linked to the events of Dragon Ball: Xenoverse.

We do not know the economic model of Dragon Ball: The Breakers for now, but Bandai Namco has confirmed that the title will be available sur PC, consoles Xbox, PlayStation et Nintendo Switch.
