Apple has taken over advertising on Twitter and wants to be the biggest customer

Elon Musk took advantage of a Twitter Spaces chat To announce that Apple has fully resumed advertising on the social network, after having recently taken a break. It turns out that the manufacturer represents an important customer for Twitter since it is the one who spends the most.

Earlier this week, Elon Musk claimed that Apple had “virtually stopped advertising on Twitter”, asking in passing “if they hate free speech in America”. He then mentioned Tim Cook asking him what was going on, just as he assured that the iPhone maker had threatened to remove the Twitter application from the App Store.

Elon Musk happened to be at Apple Park this week for a date with Tim Cook. The new manager of the social network assured that the appointment had been positive, in particular by indicating that there had been a misunderstanding concerning the potential withdrawal of the application.

Obviously, the two men talked about other elements, including the famous judgment of Apple concerning advertisements on Twitter. Elon Musk seems to have convinced Tim Cook to offer advertisements again. Moreover, the leader published a tweet to thank advertisers (like Apple) who returned to Twitter.

If recent reports are to be believed, Apple’s spending on advertising on Twitter exceeds $100 million per year.
