All The Easter Eggs From BioShock In Atomic Heart:
Bio-shock and Prey are big influences on Atomic Heart, both in terms of its story and how the game is made. But you can find some very obvious Easter eggs that are references to Bio-shock. This guide tells you about all of the Bio-shock Easter eggs you can find in Atomic Heart.
Mundfish Knows That They Got Idea From Bio-shock:
If you’ve seen any Atomic Heart footage, you might have felt like you were playing Bio-shock. No matter how you felt about Bio-shock, developer Mundfish knows that they got some ideas from it. To show their appreciation, they put a Bio-shock Easter egg in Atomic Heart.
List Of BioShock Easter Eggs:
0451:
You can find the very first Bio-shock Easter egg during the game’s opening sequence. As you go down a canal in a boat, you’ll notice a man and a woman talking about something private. The man says that there is a code, 0451.
This code is used in a lot of games, but in Bio-shock, it’s the first one you’ll get. Most people agree that the code is a reference to the dystopian novel Fahrenheit, which makes sense when you think about what Atomic Heart says about communism.
The Lighthouse And Neptune:
Lighthouses are a very important symbol in the Bio-shock world. In the first game, your plane crashes into the water, and you have to go into a lighthouse to get to Rapture. In Atomic Heart, you have to battle your way to a lighthouse, where you’ll sit in a chair (a reference to Bio-shock) and take an elevator down to a city under an artificial sea.
Even though Neptune is not as cool as Rapture, it is almost certainly a Bio-shock Easter egg. The main character, P-3, makes this point clear by calling it a “rapture” to show how amazed he is.
The Last Boss:
This Easter egg could be hard to find, but that could be because Bio-shock’s final boss was so poorly made. The last boss of Bio-shock is a big man who has eaten so much Adam that he has grown bigger and stronger. He doesn’t have many clear features, though, so he seems to be somewhat of a blob.
Even though you don’t get to battle it, the actual end enemy of Atomic Heart is a blob-like creature created of Polymer, the discovery that put the Soviet Union at the forefront of science & innovation in the game’s universe. These two have similarities because they both come from the one thing that makes their worlds different. Other than that, though, they aren’t very interesting.
Power From The Grid:
The first Plasmid you get in Bio-shock is an electrical power that lets you shock enemies and then hit them with a wrench. The name for this is the “one-two punch.” The first ability you get in Atomic Heart is a similar electric power that you should use with your melee weapon for most of the game. Even though it’s not called an Easter egg, we think it definitely is.
A Message From An Unknown Feat:
You can find a letter called “An Unknown Feat” in one of the computers in the game. This message talks about a person named Andrey Ryanovsky, which sounds like the name Andrew Ryan, who started the city of Rapture in Bio-shock. Ryanovsky goes on to say that this person was a capitalist and an idealist who left the Soviet Union.
He or she is also called a loud opponent of communism. At the end, it says that he was able to make his underwater home, and that he is a real friend to Facility 3826. This is a reference to Atomic Heart’s version of Rapture, the city of Neptune.
Konami Code:
If you haven’t completed the game yet, you can get to 1999 Mode by entering the “Konami Code” at the title screen.
Enter this code to get access to 1999 Mode.
- PC: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Cancel, Confirm (Keyboard/Mouse).
- Xbox 360: Press “Up,” “Down,” “Down,” “Left,” “Right,” “Left,” and “B.”
- PlayStation 3: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X .
Gun In The Baby Stroller:
You can discover pistol ammunition in a baby carriage at the start of Battleship Bay, after you wake up and walk through the first hallway. This is a reference to the first Bio-shock game, where the gun is found in a baby carriage.
There is also an Arm Cannon in a baby carriage next to a dead woman in Emporia. This is a reference to the revolver in the original. This can be found near the secret song on this level, which is near a locked shop in a fire among Memorial Garden as well as Market District.
