All Island Sanctuary Animal Leavings In Final Fantasy XIV And How To Obtain Them:
When you want to relax and enjoy the quiet life, the Island Sanctuary feature in Final Fantasy XIV has a lot of mysteries to solve. A big part of the Island Sanctuary experience is raising animals to use as crafting materials. Square Enix will add more animals to find over time.
If you raise these animals in your Pasture, you can pick up their waste every day and use it in your Workshop. Let’s look at all of the animal droppings on Island Sanctuary in Final Fantasy XIV & figure out which creatures dropped them.
After spending a lot of time on raids and boss fights, your island sanctuary is a place to relax, enjoy nature, as well as grow some crops. You would then discover many of the same animals on your Island Sanctuary that you did in the main game, but you’re able to catch them and take care of them.
In Island Sanctuary, you can catch animals and take care of them on your own personal paradise. Some animals are more difficult to locate than others because they only come out at certain times or when the weather is a certain way. Follow our FFXIV guide to learn where to find rare animals and what they need to do to show up.
If You Have A Bug Like “Animals Aren’t Spawning,” try this:
At launch, there was a bug where some rare animals wouldn’t spawn if they needed both weather and time, but the Island Sanctuary discord community has discovered a fix that works for some. Try the fix below if your animals don’t show up.
To bring back a rare animal that needs both time and weather, you should.
- No one else can be on your island.
- Get off your island before the weather gets worse (Midnight, 8 am, 4 pm Eorzean time)
- Wait 5 Eorzen minutes after the time the rare monster is supposed to spawn.
- Load your island back and look around for signs that your monster appeared.
Island Sanctuary Is:
Island Sanctuary is a new feature that came out with Patch 6.2. Each player gets their own island where they can gather materials, hunt & farm creatures, grow crops, let their minions run wild, and play the stock market to unlock additional items & cosmetics while upgrading their island.
Island Sanctuary is meant to be relaxing, casual side content. Most of the time, you play it alone, and you don’t need expertise as a crafting or trying to gather class. It should get updates in later expansion patches. You can have up to 15 friends on your island at any given time, though.
How To Get To Island Sanctuary:
To get to Island Sanctuary, you must accept the “Seeking Sanctuary” quest from the Clueless Crier in Old Sharlayan at X:11.9, YY:11.0. You need to be at least level 1 and also have finished the main scenario quest “Endwalker.”
How To Reach Your Private Island:
Once you’ve unlocked it, you can always go to your island sanctuary by talking to Baldin at Moraby Drydocks in Lower La Nosecea at X:24.9, Y:34.8. Use Return, Teleport, or the boat at X:9.2, Y:28.3 to leave your island whenever you want.
How To Get To Another Player’s Island:
Up to 16 players can explore the same island at the same time, and players can visit the islands of best friend, free company members, and members of the party, but only if the individual at issue has provided entry and is on the island.
NOTE:
If a player stays in the island sanctuary zone for more than 30 minutes without doing anything, they will be moved to Lower La Nosecea.
Talk to Baldin at X:24.9, Y:34.8 in Lower La Nosecea to go to someone else’s island. You can’t craft or gather on another player’s island.
After you finish “The Ultimate Weapon,” the main story quest, you can go to the islands of other players. Even if you haven’t opened your own island yet, it doesn’t matter.
The Pasture is one of the first things you can unlock on your Island Sanctuary as you play around with it. This lets you raise any wild animals you catch and feed them every day to get materials you can use in the Workshop.
- Between Ranks 1 and 3, you can hold up to 5 animals.
- Between Ranks 4 and 6, you can hold up to 10 animals.
- At ranks 7 and above, you can hold up to 20 animals.

How To Catch A Wild Animal:
Each animal on Island Sanctuary is automatically put into one of three groups based on its size, small, medium, or large. This makes it easy to find the animal you want.
You might run into a Chocobo, a Lost Lamb, or an Auroch as you walk around the Wilds. Once you discover them, you should get one to add to your collection.
To catch animals, you’ll need a tool to hold them still and some type of consumable you’re able to make from items you discover on the island. To catch animals, you must use a tool that fits the number of animals you want to catch.
You should also think about how you get close to the animals. Sneak up behind them, then, with the Capture Mode turned on, click on the animal you want to catch.
Tool Name | Rank | Materials |
Makeshift Net | Sanctuary Rank 2. | 1 Island Branch, 2 Island Vine |
Makeshift Restraint | Sanctuary Rank 6 | 3 Island Hemp, 1 Island Copper Ore |
Makeshift Soporific | Sanctuary Rank 8 | 2 Island Laver, 1 Island Sap, 2 Island Jellyfish |
To get some of the animals in this guide, you must level up your island so that you can catch bigger animals. When you reach Rank 2, you can catch small animals. At Rank 6, you can catch medium-sized animals, and at Rank 8, you can catch large animals.
When you feed your animals in the pasture, their happiness goes up. This makes it more likely that you’ll get the bonus materials that are based on happiness. Feed evey animal a Premium Island Greenfeed every day in order to keep their mood at Gleeful for the best chance.
Once you reach Rank 7, you can pay a daily fee of Seafarer’s Cowries to have your animals fed automatically. This lets you check in and loot their leavings on a daily basis rather than each day while continuing to keep their moods high.
