Xiaomi was earlier rumored to launch its Mi 7 smartphone at Mobile World Congress, but now it seems that this won’t happen as company is gearing to launch Mi Mix 2S instead. However, the wait for Mi 7 is also unlikely to be a long one, especially when we look at the speed with which details of this upcoming smartphone are coming out. We’ve already seen the renders of this phone with a single minimal bezel on the top, and now a new leak has come out, revealing all important specifications of this device.
That’s true. PlayfulDroid recently posted a screenshot of Xiaomi Mi 7 detailing all the key specifications of device. The screenshot is from China, and it shows that this upcoming Mi flagship will come with Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM, 5.6-inch display with 2,160 x 1,080 px resolution, 16mp+16mp dual lens camera and 4,480 mAh battery. It also shows that this phone will have internal storage of 128GB, and probably a stable version of MIUI 9 because the device in screenshot is running MIUI 9 Developer version.
Rumors before this leak had also suggested that a 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version of device may also be launched as base model. Other rumored features of device include facial recognition, 18:9 display (which now becomes even more confirmed with resolution mentioned in this screenshot) and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Xiaomi Mi 7 will compete with a number of mighty flagships out in the market, which include iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S9, Nokia 9, OnePlus 5T and even LG G7. It’s certainly worth waiting for this upcoming smartphone. It may be released sometime in April or May, and we’ll let you know when it happens so keep visiting us.
