- Redmi Note 5 leaks in press renders
- The renders are showing the device with a FullView display
- A launch may be just around the corner.
Since its humble beginnings in 2014 Xiaomi in India has come a long way. It has had multiple successful product lines and several bestselling smartphones, but none of them has been as successful as Redmi Note series. In case you don’t know, Redmi Note 4 is company’s fastest selling smartphone in India with 5 million units sold within 6 months. With that kind of success it’s also the bestselling smartphone in India. Now as time is nearing for the launch of its successor, it’s obvious for leaks to start appearing in the wild. The press renders of phone leaked today are a part of those leaks.
The renders show Redmi Note 5 with a display having narrow bezels. It’s a 5.99-inch display having very narrow bezels on top and bottom and no bezels on the right and left sides. The capacitive keys on front of device seem to be missing this time, thanks to the effort of stretching the display as far as possible. The display is also showing up with slightly curved edges on both left and right sides, which makes the whole thing look classy. The top bezel houses all required sensors and front camera, and the bottom bezel hides the circuitry required to power this thing. The aspect ratio of display seems to be 18:9 based on this render.
Besides display we also know a little about the specs of this device, thanks to some previous leaks. It’s expected that Redmi Note 5 will come with same Snapdragon 625 chipset that’s loaded in its predecessor. The RAM options will also be same at 3GB and 4GB. Both these things are a little disappointing given the fact that this new device is going to be the successor of company’s most successful smartphone. On photography front it’s expected to be equipped with a 12mp primary camera and 5mp secondary camera, and to power the device we’re expecting a 4,000 mAh battery underneath. Storage options are also likely to be the same at 32GB and 64GB. And the device is likely to run Android Nougat with MIUI 9 on top of it.
Since there’s not much change in terms of hardware (except for the FullView display), the price of device is also expected to be around the price tag of Redmi Note 4. The rumor mill is expecting Redmi Note 5 to be launched at a price of around 1,000 Yuan or 10,000 INR by the end of December.
