Xiaomi Mi 5X seems all set to take on OnePlus 5 with its dual camera and affordable price!
iPhone 7 Plus may be getting older and may become a thing of past after arrival of its big bro iPhone 8, but till then it seems it’ll continue to serve as a major source of inspiration for design language of many smartphones. After a OnePlus 5 that looks heavily inspired by Apple’s last year flagship now a Xiaomi phone seems to have borrowed design elements from iPhone 7 Plus.
The smartphone we’re talking about is Xiaomi Mi 5X, another version of company’s Mi 5 flagship smartphone. In last few hours many details about this upcoming Mi smartphone have leaked online, and based on them it’s looking like a solid mid-range smartphone.
The first leak came on Weibo in form of an image showing the rear of device. If that image holds any weight, Mi 5X seems to be inspired by iPhone 7 Plus in terms of design. It sports similar horizontal dual-camera setup on its back with flash module and both lenses aligned horizontally, just like they’re in iPhone 7 Plus.
The volume rocker and power button both are on right side, and there’s a curved metal unibody design. An aesthetically compelling antennae band similar to iPhone 7 Plus is also present, which adds up to the similarities between this smartphone and Apple’s thing.
But besides this image one more thing related to this smartphone has leaked online, confirming other aspects of this phone besides design. It’s a promotional poster of device, printed in Chinese that’s proudly touting about 5.5-inches large Full-HD display, Snapdragon 625 processor and 4GB of RAM.
The price of device printed on the poster is 1999 Yuan (around $295), which roughly translates to Rs. 19,000.
Now, At this point it will end up competing directly against OnePlus 5 and some other upcoming Mini flagships from Korea (i.e. Galaxy S8 Mini, LG Q6 series aka G6 Mini). In fact, it may also give all these mid-range smartphones a run for their money if camera and other things turn out to be equal.
The smartphone is also likely to come with a 3,680 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 technology, and will run MIUI 9 operating system based on Android 7.1.1. Nougat. Finally, it’s expected to be launched on July 26, a day after Motorola’s New York launch event. Would you like to go for it if it’s priced around $295 (₹20,000)? Share your thoughts in the comments.
